Report Categories

What You Can Report

If any of the following situations apply, do not hesitate to report the profile or behaviour immediately.

Fake or Misleading Profile

Someone using false information about their name, age, marital status, occupation, or identity.

Fake or Inappropriate Photos

Stolen images, stock photos, AI-generated pictures, or obscene and inappropriate content.

Financial Fraud or Scam

Anyone requesting money, gift cards, bank details, or financial help under any pretence.

Abusive or Offensive Messages

Harassment, threatening language, vulgar messages, or any form of verbal abuse in conversations.

Already Married or Engaged

Someone who is already married, engaged, or in a relationship and using the platform dishonestly.

Spam or Suspicious Links

Messages containing unknown links, phishing attempts, or promotional spam unrelated to matrimony.

Impersonation

Someone pretending to be another person, using another individual's photos or identity without consent.

Other Misuse

Any other behaviour that violates Walima's Community Guidelines or makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Step by Step

How to Report on Walima

Reporting is quick, simple, and completely confidential. Follow these steps:

Open the Profile

Navigate to the profile of the member you wish to report. You can also report directly from a message or conversation thread.

Tap "Report Profile"

Click the three-dot menu (⋮) at the top-right corner of the profile or message, then select "Report Profile" from the options.

Select the Reason

Choose the category that best describes the issue — fake profile, inappropriate photos, abusive messages, financial scam, already married, or other. This helps our team prioritise and investigate faster.

Add Details & Submit

Optionally provide additional details, attach screenshots, or describe the incident to give our safety team more context. Then tap "Submit" — your report is on its way.

What Happens Next?

Every single report is taken seriously. Here is exactly what happens once you submit:

Your Report Is Received

You will receive an email confirmation with a unique Ticket ID to track the status of your report at any time.

Instant confirmation

Our Safety Team Investigates

A dedicated member of our Safety Desk reviews the reported profile, checks their activity history, message patterns, and cross-references with our fraud detection database.

Within 24 hours

Appropriate Action Is Taken

Depending on the severity, we issue a formal warning, temporarily suspend the account, permanently remove the profile, or escalate the case to law enforcement authorities.

24–48 hours

You Are Notified

An email is sent to your registered address informing you of the action taken on your report. You can use your Ticket ID to follow up if needed.

Once action is complete

Actions We Take Against Violators

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, the following actions may be taken:

Formal Warning

First-time minor violations result in a written warning and a reminder of our Community Guidelines.

Temporary Suspension

Repeated offences or moderate violations lead to a temporary suspension of the member's account.

Permanent Removal

Serious violations such as fraud, harassment, or fake identities result in immediate and permanent ban.

Legal Action

Criminal behaviour is reported to law enforcement. We cooperate fully with authorities across all 50+ countries we serve.

You Can Also Block Members Anytime

Not every situation requires a report. If you simply do not wish someone to contact you or view your profile, you can block them instantly — no questions asked.

Instant & Invisible

The blocked member will not be notified. They simply cannot see your profile or contact you anymore.

Reversible at Any Time

Changed your mind? You can unblock any member from your Blocked Members list whenever you choose.

Report + Block Combined

When you report a profile, the member is automatically blocked for you as well — giving you immediate protection.

Grievance Redressal

If your concern has not been resolved through regular reporting, you may escalate it through our formal grievance process.

Submit Your Report Through the Platform

Use the in-app "Report Profile" feature to file your initial complaint. Your report will be assigned a unique Ticket ID.

Wait for Safety Desk Response

Our Safety Desk will investigate your complaint and take appropriate action. You will receive an email notification about the outcome.

Escalate to Grievance Officer (If Needed)

If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you may escalate the matter by writing to our Grievance Officer with your Ticket ID for a thorough secondary review.

Protect Yourself — It Is a Team Effort

While our systems work to keep you safe, your awareness plays an equally important role.

Never share personal details too early — Keep your phone number, home address, social media, and financial information private until genuine trust is established with family involvement.

Never send money to anyone — No matter how convincing the emergency or the emotional appeal, a genuine match will never ask you for financial assistance.

Stay on the Walima platform — Avoid moving conversations to WhatsApp, Telegram, or other apps until you are confident about the person's identity. Our in-app messages are monitored for your protection.

Never click on suspicious links — Do not open unknown URLs, download attachments, or share OTP codes or passwords with anyone on the platform.

Report any suspicious activity immediately — Trust your instincts. If something feels off, use the one-tap report feature. Your report could prevent someone else from falling victim.

Involve your family and make Istikhara — Include a Wali or trusted family member in your search. Pray Istikhara before making important decisions. Take your time — a righteous match will respect your pace.
